MEET
It is entirely possible that Ray Collet was born with a book in one hand and a pencil in the other. Or perhaps followed a map to the bookshelf at a very young age. Books and writing have always been a part of Ray’s current existence and past lives. Books will definitely be taken to the afterlife much like the treasure buried with the Egyptian pharaohs.
Speaking of Egypt, a chance visit to the British Museum with Papa Collet many years ago sparked a lifelong passion for all things Egyptian along with some ideas for stories that may (in another life) get written one day. Pharaohs aside, there are usually at least a dozen or so characters living in Ray’s head at any given time (please don’t tell anyone this) and they all clamor for attention and want their story told. The road to publication has been a long and at times tortuous journey but Ray never gave up hope that the world would get to share these characters and stories. Ray writes hot, sensual and emotionally gripping, contemporary romance, with a dash of humor thrown in (because real life is absurd), mostly set in the stunning South Island, New Zealand, where the beautiful and dramatic scenery inspires the written word every day. There is a husband, but no pets (because there is a husband). This situation may change one day…then there will be a puppy. There is no alcohol because that got taken away in a previous life. There was chocolate, but gee why not kick a person in the gut with a sugar allergy? |
Ray's Reality
Favourite book - too hard to pick one, but anything by Dean Koontz who is known for horror and psychological thrillers, but is also a brilliant romantic suspense writer
Favourite movie - Man from Snowy River (Parts 1 and 2)
Favourite actor - Hugh Jackman, if I can ever get him away from Bronwen Evans
Favourite music - the score from the Man from Snowy River. Bruce Rowland's haunting music reflects so much of the visuals within the film.
Favourite job - that has to be writing. It really is the best job in the world.
Feel free to ask and I'll add to the list.
